Martin Clark is a retired GP and has been a BRET Board Member and Trustee until 2018.
Martin gained his first degree in Biochemistry at Birmingham University, with particular interest in research into steroids and the Pineal Gland. He qualified in Medicine also at Birmingham University, with special interest in Obstetrics.
At Birmingham University he met Diana, who was studying English and Russian literature, and they got married while Martin was still studying. They have three children and ten grandchildren.
After hospital jobs in Northallerton and York, he entered General Practice in Scarborough and moved after two years to a General Practice in Rotherham, South Yorkshire where he worked for 35 years.
He has been involved with multiple local medical committees over many years and for several years was 'Doc Friday' on local Radio Hallam.
He has had a life long interest in cellular metabolism and neurotransmitters, as well as everything 'General Practice'.
Martin loves the idea that BRETT can help young talented Doctors and Scientists develop research skills and ideas, particularly those that may, no matter how tangentially, have practical applications in day to day medicine.
