Laurence O’Toole has been a Consultant Cardiologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust since 2001. A Irish Brummie, he trained in Sheffield, New Zealand and Edinburgh and completed his doctoral thesis in Sheffield looking at how genetic variance affects the response to cardiovascular disease.
He leads the echo, adult congenital heart disease and obstetric cardiology services for STH and has interests in heart valve disease, the effects of oncology treatments on the cardiovascular system and the use of computer systems in clinical practice. He is married to a general practitioner and they have 3 children. He loves the outdoors.
